Q:

I manage a small clinic in Delaware that provides minor surgical procedures, some with light general anesthesia with CRNAs. I am possibly interested in getting the facility certified as a surgery center. What are the guidelines and documents needed for that type of certification?

A:

The certificate of need process may apply in your case. However, not all types of facilities require licensure. You should contact the office of Health Facilities Licensing and Certification, under the Division of Public Health for the specific criteria to qualifying and/or ascertain, if licensure is required in your particular circumstance.
